Located between the islands of Sumbawa and Flores, the National Park is surrounded by two seas, the Sea of Flores and Sumba (Indian Ocean). The park was created in 1980, to protect the Komodo Dragons but also to preserve the pristine reefs of the area.

The live aboard starts her journey in Labuan Bajo, on Flores island and heads to Komodo via Rinca and back to Labuan Bajo. Ports of call will allow you to encounter the infamous Komodo Dragons, or to visit the spectacular Red Beach named by the small fragments of dead red coral coloring the sand.

North, the Flores Sea is calm, clear and warm. Visibility is most of the time very good, aquatic life rich and the hard coral gardens beautifully preserved.

South, the Sumba Sea (part of the Indian Ocean) is cooler and the deep currents allow a rich plankton life attracting an abundant underwater life : fish are plentiful and we often see rare species, wonders for the photographers such as pygmy sea horse, nudibranch, star gazer, sea apple  custard, partner shrimp...

All the diving conditions can be met : wild currents, gentle drift dives, walls of coral, caves and overhangs, underwater pinnacles, black and white sandy bottoms...
