Located between the Islands of Sumbawa and Flores, the National Park is surrounded by two seas, the Sea of Flores (Pacific Ocean) and Sumba (Indian Ocean). The Park was created in 1981 to ensure the protection of the Komodo Dragons but also to preserve the pristine reefs of the area. To get more informations about the Park, please click here.

The cruise starts in Labuan Bajo, on Flores Island and we sail to Komodo Island via Rinca and return to Labuan Bajo.

Ports of call will allow you in particular to encounter the infamous Komodo Dragons or to visit the spectacular Red Beach named by the small fragments of dead red coral coloring the sand and other islands to look at flying foxes bats or to relax and enjoy the lunar landscapes.

 

 

 About diving :

 

With more than 50 dive sites, the National Park offers the opportunity to dive 2 different environments. 

All the conditions are there : crazy currents, steep walls covered with coral, caves, overhangs, underwater reefs, white or black sandy bottoms...

North, the water of the Flores Sea (Pacific Ocean) are quiet and warm.

Visibility is usually good, underwater life and coral gardens amazing.

 

 

 

 

Some of our favorite dive sites :

Castle rock will seduce you with an incredible marine life, you will dive inside the schools of fish, with chance to spot mantas and dolphins and ribbon eels. Unforgettable.

Tanjung Rusa (Banta Island) will give you the feeling to fly with its steep walls covered with coral and sponges and amazing fih life such as trevallies, schooling batfish, sharks and manta...

Tatawa Kecil and Batu Bolong will spin your head around : dive in the current with big fishs.

South, the Sumba Sea (part of the Indian Ocean) is cooler and the deep currents allow a rich plankton life attracting an abundant underwater life : fishs are plentiful and it is often to meet with rare species, wonders for the photographers such as pygmy sea horses, nudibranchs, star gazer, partner shrimps...

Cannibal Rock is a small and colourfull reef with various life : sea apples, nudibranchs, feather stars by millions.

 
Yellow Wall is one of the dives you must do, steep walls covered with orange soft corals and critters life.

 

South of Komodo gives you the opportunity starting from September to see pelagics attracted by plankton such as mantas.

 

 

These dives are considered as some of the most beautiful of the world !!!
